Hi, my name is Andrés and I am a professional translator. I hold a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the Central University of Venezuela and an AD in Computer Programming from Belgrano University. I started my journey as a freelancer back in 2012, and since then I have been collaborating with agencies and direct clients mostly from the US and Europe. My native language is Spanish from Venezuela, but most of my work has been focused on US and neutral Spanish and targeted to US and Latin American audiences. My main field of expertise is information technology, although I have also been involved in many projects related to other fields, mostly human resources and health care. Besides, in early 2020 I started to take my first baby steps as a freelance full-stack web developer, which has allowed me to gain hands-on experience in my field of expertise.

I have a bachelors degree in Business with Marketing and Human Resources Diplomas. I've been working for more than 30 years in Translation, Transcription and Transcreation. I have more than 35 books translated from English to Spanish (you can find them in Amazon with my name: Elizabeth Garay, Translator). I work for Understood for All, Tektime, We are Content, Poro Studio, Next Chapter Circle, Babelcube, and I've worked for WHO, Population Council, Insad, Colegio de México, and others. This is my passion.

I am from Sweden and lives in Colombia sometime now. I have over 20 years of experience in this or similar kinds of work. I'm incredibly reliable and trustworthy. I always deliver what I say and I usually do a better job than expected. I'm flexible and open to most challenges, just let me know and I will not let you down. My experience and social skills are at the top level. I'm fluent in several languages such as ENGLISH, SPANISH, NORWEGIAN, DANISH and of course SWEDISH. I’m a Swedish native, live in South America, and have been traveling the world for many years. I can also speak German but I’m not fluent. I am a freelance translator and copywriter with over 10 years of experience, specialized in the Legal, Financial, Media and Marketing fields. I translate an average of 1 million words per year, which means I have translated over 30 million words throughout my career. I am a freelance translator since 2009 and a Medical Doctor since 1982. I built my professional career at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana at Bogota, Colombia and I specialized in Health Management at the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano also at Bogota. I was raised and lived in the United States territory during primary school through the first semester of college. I directed the health area of a medical second opinion company. One of my duties was to gather and translate medical records (including test and imaging reports). Then, I had to translate them from Spanish to English and send them to an interdisciplinary group of expert, specialized doctors, in the United States. Then, when the experts delivered their assessment reports and management suggestions I translated them from English to Spanish. This report included some articles published in medical journals that supported the reports. As the company grew, we hired other translators, and I added to my responsibilities the proofreading of their translations. As well as my experience in health, I have worked as a freelance translator for several companies; during the last four months, I have translated more than 400,000 words. Among my clients are The Language Doctors, Latitude Prime, Jorge Vargas, Lingosphere, Flix Translations and others. I am now retired from clinical activities and have decided to commit my work time to translating in a timely fashion, with good precision and quality. I am a sworn translator before the Tribunal Judiciaire of Perpignan and often perform translations and interpretations for this institution in the legal field (hearings, confrontations, reports, court decisions etc ..)
