I was born and raised in Guatemala, where I attended an American school learning English as a Native rather than as a second language. I have spent the last 20+ years living in Mexico working as an interpreter and translator for American companies such as Jockey Intl. and Skyline Builders and then I worked with the Real Estate and Tourism Industry at the Riviera Maya for more than 5 years, where I wrote and translated web content, newsletters, rental and sales agreements, contracts and “fideicomisos”. For the last three years I have been translating books, scripts, stories and novels for renowned American, British and Canadian authors. In 2010 I spent the Winter-Spring semester traveling throughout Argentina and homeschooling my then 3rd grade son and 7th grade daughter. Also in 2010, I began a summer language immersion program, True Immersion, LLC, in Sevilla, Spain for American teens - which continues today. I am highly proficient in Italian - primarily self-taught - but have also studied at the Lorenzo de Medici and Centro Firenze language schools in Florence over the last 14 years.
