I am a professional translator. Before and during my academic career I have worked as a freelancer, performing on specialized texts such as user manual guides, scientific abstracts, patents, technical data sheets, popular science articles, and business contracts. I am able to translate other literary genres, also less formal like novels, newspaper and fashion articles, and literary works in general with a certain degree of proficiency at using CAT tools like SmartCat, OmegaT, Wordfast Anywhere, SDL Trados, MateCat. My linguistic combinations are: IT>EN/EN>IT, IT>DE/DE>IT. I am very flexible in terms of working hours and workload because I am prepared to work late and also on weekends in case of urgent projects.

Working internationally for 7 years has provided me with a well rounded and complex understanding of the English language and its multiple dialects. I have gained extensive experience in the tourism and service sector which means translation plays a key role in all my work.

Starting as interpreter and translator during the balkan war, while studying German language in Zagreb, I moved 1995 to Austria, where I live ever since. I am Croatian and German native with profund knowledge of English language. In the meanwhile I was working in big international companies like European Telecom International, a company of Telefonica, and DHL. Since 2012 I am self-employed and work as translator and writer.

Growing up in Germany with a bilingual background, I fulfilled my dream at the age of 18 and moved to Szekszárd, where I started working as a volunteer in a kindergarten. After acquiring some basic knowledge of Hungarian, I decided to study early childhood education with a bilingual focus in Hungarian. After working in my profession and after my two older children were born, I started translating for MOZAIK, an internationally recognized publisher of school materials. After acquiring basic translation skills, I passed the state-approved Hungarian and German translation exam at ELTE University in Budapest in 2015. Since then, I have been working full-time as a freelance translator and proofreader.

My main areas of expertise in translation and proofreading are marketing, catering, art and culture, especially music and literature, but also theatre and film (subtitling also), tourism, management, law, education, PR, humanities, politics.

Welcome! Languages are my passion! Translating is so fascinating, because it connects people from different continents and countries. I've been loving languages since my childhood. It's amazing to see the different terms and words in another language for the same matter. I started to translate from time to time in 2018, although I have a business and legal background, I've been always busy with languages and translating beside my job as a tax adviser, later on I managed a German-Taiwanese shipping company, all in English of course. I learned Russian in an extended way since my childhood, later on Persian and Turkish (this is the country, where I'm currently living.)

As a trained European Merchant, with additional subject-specific training for lawyers in English, I have worked as a sales assistant, sales representative and recruiter for about 10 years, before I started freelancing full-time in 2009. Translating patents (technical English and German) became the main focus of my work as well as manuals and instructions, product descriptions and free style writing. As my clients are lawyers, manufacturing companies, marketing agencies and many more, I enjoy delivering anything from legal language to more creative writing. My favorite book is Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell and my most-read authors are Stephen King, H. P. Lovecraft and Clive Barker.
