If I had to describe myself: a linguaphile. All of my life, I have been passionate about languages and how they apply to our day-to-day, from work to art to shopping and everything in-between. I'm an avid reader and love researching new methods or applications for linguistics and translations, especially website localization. //// I currently work both as a project manager for translations as well as a freelance translator for French to English texts. I have been a Russian, English, French and Spanish teacher and I have been translating for 3 years. I began translating professionally in graduate school and am now a full-time freelancer. I also edit and proofread, and work only into my native language, so I can guarantee that all my translations sound correct, natural and professional in the target language. I have translated marketing materials, websites, maps, news articles, letters, medical and pharmaceutical documents, political opinion columns, essays, poems, stories, and certificates. With English as my first language, I grew up in a bilingual country where I was exposed to both French and English, hence my excellent mastery of my source language. I studied microbiology at university, then obtained a postgraduate diploma to teach biology, which I have been teaching for six years now. As a science teacher and translator with three years` experience in the industry, I am able to handle a variety of texts, and am particularly interested in science-related fields. I have experience in medical, legal, economic/financial as well as editorial translation. I also translate certificates, transcripts and academic testimonials. I do not accept to work in fields which I do not master, and do not work into my source language because I could not guarantee the quality of the work. I look forward to working with you.
