I came a little late to translating... I spent a few years trying out different careers. I worked as a legal assistant, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an HR representative, even a restaurant manager... all before I found my calling. While I sometimes wish I had gotten into translation sooner, I'm thankful that I was able to experience such a wide variety of positions. It makes me a stronger translator, as I'm well versed in the vocabulary used in such widely different positions. Now, I'm able to put all of those various skills to use, helping others to communicate with the best, most natural translations possible.

I'm a native English speaker from Forestville, New York, USA. I have a B.A. degree in International Business and Spanish from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. I've been living Spain since September 2011 and I am bilingual. Since March 2015, I've been working as a translator (Spanish to English) and editor for a popular technology website, working with texts related to business, video games, and computer software. I have extensive experience working on translation and proofreading projects, including textbooks, questionnaires, blogs, short stories, and thesis papers. I've been in translations/linguistics since 1997, millions of words, vast experience, a great lot of fields, I've worked for Google, Airbnb, governments (local and states), just name it. I am a languages student from Northern Ireland, studying Spanish and Portuguese. I may not be fully qualified, but I am now looking to fill my time with more translation due to the fact that I had to return home during my Erasmus year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others).
