I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I have gained experience working for the different ministries in Chile (ChileCompra, Foreign Ministry, Treasury, etc), along with numerous local and international companies (Codelco, AES Corp, Siemens, etc.), as well as local universities (UDEC, UBB, UDD), in documents ranging from a simple CV through to the contracts, manuals and university papers. I also have some experience in translating from English into German. I produce reliable and high-quality work within the fields of energy, industrial manufacturing, marketing, market research, sales, the environment, and also automotive, electrical, machine and plant engineering. To expand my skills and knowledge, I lived in France, Germany, Poland and Spain for a total of approximately 7 years. I am a languages student from Northern Ireland, studying Spanish and Portuguese. I may not be fully qualified, but I am now looking to fill my time with more translation due to the fact that I had to return home during my Erasmus year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I still am continuing with my classes from my host university (Porto, in Portugal) and am currently studying a translation module so I am familiar with CAT software and the proper protocol for translation.
