Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan (Russian speaking), I have lived in the United States since 1996. I graduated high school in Midland, Texas, then received my first bachelors degree from Central Texas College, majoring in Computer Science. After several years, I went back to school to major in International Studies at the University of California in San Diego. Passionate for languages and cultural learning, I have lived and studied in Morelia, Mexico and Barcelona, Spain. I have worked as a freelance translator and localization expert since 2009 and have great knowledge in mobile game and app localization. Other projects throughout the years have included fiction, history and biography books, articles, and legal documents. I translate Russian to English myself and run a team of ten other translators, who work in most popular European and Asian languages. Every member of the team is a native speaker of the language he/she works in.

I switched to translation after 20+ years of legal practice on 3 continents. Apart from translation proper, I offer professional localization, on-brand translation, and transcreation services. - I am the Russian/Ukrainian to English legal / oil & gas translator of choice at three dozen translation agencies and law firms on both sides of the Atlantic. - I have an impressive collection of Russian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, and Uzbek laws, codes of practice, and standards in English, translated by yours truly and/or my team members over two decades. The quality standard is much higher than that of “official” translations available on government websites. - I routinely translate over 200,000 words on a monthly basis (sustainable word count for legal material). I accept rush and weekend jobs with a small markup. I am also on-call 24/7 in case of an emergency.

WHO I AM: Bilingual since birth I have always had an immence interest in two things: Music and Languages. Throughout my life i had many opportunities and demands to perform translation tasks on a personal and a professional level as well as privatly teaching languages. My translation experience spanns from simple e-meil and daily communications translations to academic translations. While bieng a professional composer i have gained great skill of holding myself to the deadline and demanding the highest standard of work. I am resoursful and an exceptionally quick learner, so no job would be too tough. MY LANGUAGES: Native: English, Russian. I'm an English speaker with sufficient grasp of the Russian language, including for use in the technical sphere having completed my undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering with Russian language as the primary language of study. While I'm not a professionally trained and certified translator, I have been involved in various translation projects that do not require attestation, especially for technical documentations of products for markets outside CIS region. Additionally, I have assisted with proofreading of translations done by trained and certified professionals.

I am a published historian who translates and edits texts for a wide range of Russian institutions, particularly in the fields of the arts, architecture and history. I am a freelance translator and electromechanical engineer with electrical engineering degree. Although I am native in English, I consider Russian to be my native language as well, since I am fluent in both of them.
