Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan (Russian speaking), I have lived in the United States since 1996. I graduated high school in Midland, Texas, then received my first bachelors degree from Central Texas College, majoring in Computer Science. After several years, I went back to school to major in International Studies at the University of California in San Diego. Passionate for languages and cultural learning, I have lived and studied in Morelia, Mexico and Barcelona, Spain. I have worked as a freelance translator and localization expert since 2009 and have great knowledge in mobile game and app localization. Other projects throughout the years have included fiction, history and biography books, articles, and legal documents. I translate Russian to English myself and run a team of ten other translators, who work in most popular European and Asian languages. Every member of the team is a native speaker of the language he/she works in.

I'm an experienced writer with a first class BA in journalism and creative writing. Sixteen years of experience and a proven track record as a translator and interpreter working among English, Russian, and Ukrainian with a strong emphasis on Ukrainian/Russian to English translations and a strong background in legal, technical, financial, and IT fields. Contract work for major law firms, IT companies, leading banks and financial institutions. Extensive experience with news services. Near-native speaker command of English, both oral and written. Winner of 9 high-school English-language contests (3 national contests, 1996-1998).

I have studied Advanced Translation as part of my course at the University of Leeds, which included journalistic, administrative, technical/scientific texts and literary texts. I graduated with a degree in Russian with Class I honours in July 2020, and since then, I have worked full time as a freelance translator and EFL teacher.
