I have studied Russian for ten years now, including a year living in Moscow (2017-18). In September I enrolled on the Master's course in Translation Studies and after graduation (2023) would like to start my freelance career

I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.

I received my B.A. in Russian from Arizona State University in 2014, where I graduated with the university's second-highest distinction (magna cum laude). In addition, I have extensive experience in translation, editing, and proofreading in a variety of fields. However, my main work areas include PR, marketing, IT, and other business materials.

I am a published historian who translates and edits texts for a wide range of Russian institutions, particularly in the fields of the arts, architecture and history. I have worked with the Strelka Institute for Architecture, Media and Design, the V-A-C Foundation, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, ArtGuide Publishing, Moscow Urban Forum, Bernaskoni Architects, Moscow's Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre, the Moscow Higher School of Economics, Kommersant, Afisha, and many other organisations, individuals and publications.

I taught English as a Foreign Language in St. Petersburg, Russia from 2006 to 2018. In my time there I translated Russian-English and edited a variety of texts including song lyrics, how to guides, business presentations, resumes, guided tours, website content and press blurbs.
