Since starting to work as a translator in March 2016 I have translated and revised over 500,000 words in a broad range of fields, including marketing, technical, automotive, medical, sport and many more. I am a passionate linguist with many years of experience in translation and interpretation. I hold an M.Phil in French from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, with a specialization in Translation & Interpretation, and also a C1 from Alliance française of Madras. I work predominantly between English and French. I translate mainly literary, general, administrative texts as well as scientific articles and reviews. Winner of translation grant from Centre national du livre, Paris.

I'm a native English speaker (FR->EN(GB) and (EN AU), living just outside Paris. I was born in the UK, brought up in Australia and have lived in Italy, Germany and France. I became a freelance translator after working with UNESCO, ESSEC business school and then pursuing a successful 16-year career in the IT division of EURONEXT, the pan-European financial exchange. As well as general cultural, scientific, educational and business translation, I specialise in banking, finance, stock market, financial IT, marketing, heavy industry, building and construction, and road and maritime transport. I also translate website content, themes and plugins. I am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK) and a Chartered Linguist. I have NAATI certification (Australia). I am a meticulous and dedicated French< >English and Swahili< >English translator with a Masters degree in Translation from the University of Nairobi. I have worked with translation agencies, local and international companies, NGOs, the UN and government agencies where I consistently delivered timely and accurate translations. In the 5 years where I have been in business, both as an in-house and a freelance translator, I have gained extensive experience in different fields such as commercial, legal, financial, technical and general translation. I am an advanced user of SDL Trados studio CAT tool, with proficient knowledge of Microsoft word, MemoQ, Across, Wordfast, among others.

I've been freelance translating while completing my bachelors in Comparative Literature, alongside working on my own translation projects. I have a decent amount of experience translating poetry and other literary sources, which I believe have given me a lot of tools to translate any kind of text -- including marketing, scientific, and so forth. A brief bio: I was born in Belgium and moved to the United States when I was young, hence I was thrown early on into different languages. Today, I speak/read/write in English, Dutch/Flemish, German, French, and Italian.
