I'm a native English speaker (FR->EN(GB) and (EN AU), living just outside Paris. I was born in the UK, brought up in Australia and have lived in Italy, Germany and France. I became a freelance translator after working with UNESCO, ESSEC business school and then pursuing a successful 16-year career in the IT division of EURONEXT, the pan-European financial exchange. As well as general cultural, scientific, educational and business translation, I specialise in banking, finance, stock market, financial IT, marketing, heavy industry, building and construction, and road and maritime transport. I also translate website content, themes and plugins. I am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK) and a Chartered Linguist. I have NAATI certification (Australia). I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.

Since starting to work as a translator in March 2016 I have translated and revised over 500,000 words in a broad range of fields, including marketing, technical, automotive, medical, sport and many more. I am committed to producing quality work, forging lasting relationships and constantly improving my skills.

Native English speaker with 10 years of experience translating into English (5 as a full-time translator), an Undergraduate degree in French and Portuguese from the University of Leeds and a Masters in Translation. I also have 9 years of experience teaching English as a second language and have worked as a copywriter for 1 year in-house, and 4 years as a freelancer.

Living in Spain for over 10 years has enabled me to perfect my language skills and offer a professional translation, proofreading, and copy-editing service. I also undertake post-editing work. My work includes proofreading and editing translations and work (business and academic) written by non-native English speakers to ensure it reads as accurate and natural English. Through my intense and ongoing language studies I have the skills, both as a translator and interpreter, to present an accurate and contextual form of the source language in the target language. I was lucky enough to travel the world and live in many countries, finishing school in U.A.E. and later attending the university in Greece following a job contract in the USA. My knowledge of languages from the native perspective allows me to translate at top notch quality.

I offer over a decade of experience specializing in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian to English translation, localization, subtitling, and interpretation. Prior work includes translating for Google, The New York Times, A-list celebrities, Fendi, EU-funded research projects, National Geographic docuseries, UNICEF videos, Dario Gioè's Journey to the Center of a Millennial, and localizing marketing materials and websites for international hotel chains. Finally, I've interpreted for the United States Anti-Doping Agency, immigration attorneys, asylum seekers, market researchers, and medical patients.

I've been freelance translating while completing my bachelors in Comparative Literature, alongside working on my own translation projects. I have a decent amount of experience translating poetry and other literary sources, which I believe have given me a lot of tools to translate any kind of text -- including marketing, scientific, and so forth. A brief bio: I was born in Belgium and moved to the United States when I was young, hence I was thrown early on into different languages. Today, I speak/read/write in English, Dutch/Flemish, German, French, and Italian. The exchange of information and ideas across linguistic and geographic borders greatly interests me, which is why, I believe, I enjoy translating texts so much.
