I was born in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. During my high school years, I studied English and Arabic for four years. I started to learn Korean language two years before my high school graduation. Now I'm attending to 29 Mayıs University, Interpretation and Translation department in which I found a chance to take classes about Introduction to Translation, Translation-Oriented Text Analysis, Linguistics, Translation Technologies, Interpreting practices, Intercultural Communication Skills, Turkish for Translators, Academic Reading/Writing, Contemporary World Literature, Contemporary World Drama, World History and Arabic. I’m quite interested in literature.

I like translating texts from different kind of domains such as medical, technical, literature, marketing and localization.

Hi, I am Mücahid, mostly called Muco for short :). I am a freelance translator with 2 years of experience. I have been speaking English for 17 years and French for 6 years. I am a huge books and movies nerd, and I am not just saying that, I love Star Wars Saga, Pulp Fiction (actually, nearly all movies made by Tarantino), Godfather, City of Women and a lot more... I also love rock. To begin with groups, Black Sabbath, Ghost, Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, and more. Besides that, I went to Medical High school, so I am familiar with latin terms. I also lived in Paris, France for 6 months.

During that time, I studied at Sorbonne. I visited Louvre, Picasso, Rodin, many many bookstores, libraries and Eiffel Tower, obviously :).

I have been doing freelance translations from German/English into Turkish since my college education. I have been providing professional translation, proofreading, editing, and transcription services for 6 years now. I am especially interested in projects around automotive, marketing, literature, and video games.

I have Bachelor's Degree in Translation & Interpreting Studies at Yeditepe University in Istanbul. Since the beginning of my education at this department, I have done many translations in EN > TR and TR > EN language pairs. I did my internship at ES Language Services, which is the first localization company to be established in Turkey and is widely known in localization sector. I have gained experience in website localization, IT texts and some other fields I listed on my profile during my internship and my education. I also translate contents for two magazines in Turkey, Düşünbil and Libido, and a translation newspaper, which can be found on www.ceviriyoruz.org website.
