From 1990 to 1995, I was involved in a Bible translation project for the Pemon tribe in Venezuela. At the beginning of 2012 I joined Editorial Renuevo, where I became a bilingual editor of books, which we published once a month, mostly in Spanish. Later our company committed to publishing each book in both Spanish and English versions. My skills include MS Word, creating macros in Word, Excel and Access, editing Spanish and English and translations from one to the other. I also assigned editing and translation projects to off-site workers and held weekly online meetings to keep us all sharp in our skills. I learned to program databases in Filemaker Pro, using them to help me stay in control of the department.

I am a NATIVE Spanish speaker, from Spain. I’ve been working as a freelance translator since 2006. I am fluent in English and Portuguese and have an extensive knowledge of IT, technology, finance, economics, business, games and marketing, fields I worked in for more than 12 years. As a translator, I have been working on multiple projects for multinationals such IBM and Telefonica. On a daily basis, I translate websites, landing pages, softwares, documents, emails, banners, blogs, contracts, etc. I got my degree in Economics and Business Administration by the University of Valladolid (Spain) back in 2002. I hold a Master’s Degree in Business Administration by the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, one of the most prominent Universities in Spain. I have an eye for detail and deliver spotless translations. I also work quickly, without affecting the quality of the projects I work on.

I am a Journalist with a strong determination and attention to detail in terms of writing and translating from English to Spanish and vice versa. I enjoy translation jobs as I like to find the best and more accurate expressions and words to precisely explain what is written in another language. Studying Spanish and English since I was a child and living and working in both cultures made me polish both languages until I could use them indistinctly in a professional manner. For the last three years I have been translating books, scripts, stories and novels for renowned American, British and Canadian authors. I have a degree in Translation (English to Spanish and Spanish to English) and Editing in Spanish (Corrección de Textos) I also have a degree in Biochemistry.

I have 31 years of experience teaching and tutoring all levels of Spanish. With a Master's Degree in the Spanish Language and Literature from Middlebury College, VT, I consider myself to be a grammar expert, in addition to being fluent in the language. I had study abroad experiences in Mexico prior to living in Madrid during graduate school. In 2010 I spent the Winter-Spring semester traveling throughout Argentina and homeschooling my then 3rd grade son and 7th grade daughter. Also in 2010, I began a summer language immersion program, True Immersion, LLC, in Sevilla, Spain for American teens - which continues today. I am highly proficient in Italian - primarily self-taught - but have also studied at the Lorenzo de Medici and Centro Firenze language schools in Florence over the last 14 years. From 2006-2011 I participated in an Italian Book Club hosted by a native instructor from Virginia Commonwealth University. I love the work of translating and look forward to helping you!
