I have worked in-house as a PM and a translator both in Canada and in Argentina. I have been working with agencies around the world (China, US, Canada, France, etc.) for more than 15 years. Apart from having a translation degree, I have studied philosophy at the university, which provides me with additional tools that allow me to understand texts in depth and, most importantly, find the most accurate translation for every term because, after all, what is translation but giving a thing the precise name designated by a culture for it?

I am a qualified Spanish language specialist from Spain with 9 years of experience. I am a member of Asetrad and UniCo. I hold a degree in Translation and Interpreting (2009) and a postgraduate degree in Spanish Proofreading, Copyediting and Language Consulting (2018). During my degree I spent one year in Geneva. After graduating, I spent two years in Paris, where I first worked as a project manager and later as a web content editor and translator while I started freelancing. I then returned to Spain, where I worked as an in-house project manager, translator and reviser for several companies until I decided to become a full-time freelancer.

I grew up speaking Spanish at home and English at school, learning to have full command of either language from a young age. With a background teaching English as a second and foreign language to Spanish and Japanese native speakers, I can take complex ideas and translate them without losing the meaning or concept behind the words and grasp the nuances of the language. I've had the opportunity to do live translations, both En > Es and Es > En. While working at an English school, I also had the chance to translate technical documents and manuals from English to Spanish for a large manufacturing company in the automobile industry.

I started my career as professional translator in 1995, when I joined the foreign department of a pharmaceutical company. At that time, I enjoyed an international environment, giving me the possibility to work extensively in different kind of documents, including technical translations, legal and financial. I am a professional with more than 30 years of experience in English to Spanish and Spanish to English translations. I am capable of delivering excellent quality at an affordable rate. I was born and raised in Guatemala, where I attended an American school learning English as a Native rather than as a second language. I'm a System Engineer who loves languages and live in Brazil, I've worked as translator a few times, it's not my main profession but I certanly take care about the quality of my translations because of my love for right speaking and writing.
