Constantino Casasbuenas began his career as mechanical engineer, specialized in hydraulic energy. After working for several NGOs in Latin America, he has worked for OxfamNovib in Central America, with El Taller’s education programme in Tunis, director of Citizen Diplomacy and CEO of Nexus in Colombia. Since 1999 he worked with Oxfam GB, first as country director for Colombia and as policy adviser in the Economic Justice team based in Oxford until 2014. He has lead the Regional and National campaigns for the GROW team in Oxfam International, and in 2014 he was the Director of Intermon's national programme in Bolivia. He is currently based in Colombia as an independent consultant. Constantino is active in the field of agro-ecology with campesinos and indigenous peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean.

My native language is Tagalog/Filipino, a language that is spoken by millions of people, not only within our country but also by the immigrants and overseas workers worldwide; English, on the other hand, is our second language. While living abroad, I learned my third language, Spanish (Latin America). This made me fully aware that there is no better way to touch someone's heart but a word said in his own language--his native tongue.
