I am a freelance translator (EN>ES) and also a proofreader and localizer. I have a Degree in Translation and Interpreting (EN/DE>ES), and a Master's Degree in Translation and New Technologies: Translation of Software and Multimedia Products. I also have a Spanish Professional Proofreading Course. I have worked for several translation companies translating, editing, proofreading, localizing texts about marketing, website, software, business management and leadership, tourism, education, food, automotive, technology, jewellery, fashion, innovation, medical tests, art and culture, legal and social media, among others.

I grew up speaking Spanish at home and English at school, learning to have full command of either language from a young age. With a background teaching English as a second and foreign language to Spanish and Japanese native speakers, I can take complex ideas and translate them without losing the meaning or concept behind the words and grasp the nuances of the language. I've had the opportunity to do live translations, both En > Es and Es > En. While working at an English school, I also had the chance to translate technical documents and manuals from English to Spanish for a large manufacturing company in the automobile industry.

As an immigrant in the USA I have experienced first hand the challenges of language barriers, and my passion for languages and desire to help my community motivated me to learn more about language services. I have a Bachelors degree in Spanish from Utah Valley University and I have been involved in translation and interpretation for the last 14 years. I was born and raised in Guatemala, where I attended an American school learning English as a Native rather than as a second language. For the last three years I have been translating books, scripts, stories and novels for renowned American, British and Canadian authors. I have a degree in Translation (English to Spanish and Spanish to English) and Editing in Spanish (Corrección de Textos) I also have a degree in Biochemistry.
