I am a translator based in Guatemala and have over seven years of experience translating a variety of documents. I am certified to translate legal documents. Apart from working as a freelance translator, I have also worked as a translator and interpreter for an NGO. More recently, I have specialized in translating news articles from English into Spanish for a major news organization, including proofreading and editing articles. These covered a wide scope of topics, from travel and entertainment to social issues and politics. I had study abroad experiences in Mexico prior to living in Madrid during graduate school. In 2010 I spent the Winter-Spring semester traveling throughout Argentina and homeschooling my then 3rd grade son and 7th grade daughter. Also in 2010, I began a summer language immersion program, True Immersion, LLC, in Sevilla, Spain for American teens - which continues today. I am highly proficient in Italian - primarily self-taught - but have also studied at the Lorenzo de Medici and Centro Firenze language schools in Florence over the last 14 years.
