I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.

I've been working as a tutor (English and German) for 3 years and as a translator (freelance) for a year and a half. I fluently speak English and German. Moreover I can work with the business communication, translating articles on the business topics and so on. I've taken part in different international student exchange programs, particularly in Germany (DAAD Summer courses). I passed there inofficial language tests(TestDaF), which showed my B2-C1 language level.

Within 23 years’ career in Caterpillar I had held many different positions in engineering, product support, sales, marketing and management. In the beginning of services as a technical rep of Engine Division, I was actively engaged in the translation of advertising, marketing and technical literature on diesel and gas generator sets, power trains for oil and gas industry, commercial engines. Later on was always involved in the practice of interpreting during negotiations with customers at various conferences, trainings and other events. I'm a licensed translator from French, English, Spanish and Italian languages. I have a Ph.D degree in linguistics for researching short French science-popular movies, so I have a large experience in movie translation that I like very much. Besides, I took a course of advanced training in hospitality in French after which I worked in a French company as animator. Also, I underwent training in an aviation agency for a year where I worked as a translator then. Always learning, always hardworking.

I have had more than 10 years’ experience in the field of Finance and Economics at enterprises (including 5 years’ experience in oil/gas companies), also have a little experience in taxation. Working as an economist, I had a lot of projects for translation (financial documents, contracts, agreements, annual reports, analytical reports and presentations). Also I had a translation of some scientific articles and few stories from a fiction book. May be I do not have a huge experience in translation, but I work very efficiently and effectively. I'm very pedantic, conscientious and hardworking.
