Linguist, teacher of English and German

I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.

I am a chemical engineer by trade and I graduated the Moscow Institute of Oil & Gas Industry. I am about 30 years worked as a chemical engineer and chemist. In the last 8 years, I have been engaged in translation from English to Russian of the different types of texts. I take part also in project Coursera as translator-volunteer. I'm a licensed translator from French, English, Spanish and Italian languages. I have a Ph.D degree in linguistics for researching short French science-popular movies, so I have a large experience in movie translation that I like very much. Besides, I took a course of advanced training in hospitality in French after which I worked in a French company as animator. Also, I underwent training in an aviation agency for a year where I worked as a translator then. Always learning, always hardworking.

During the education at the Belarusian State University I was familiarized with a variety of topics, such as history, politics, international relations, social policy, environment protection, health, literature, geography, travels and others. I have also finished Python programmer cource at GeekBrains IT-portal, so I am familiar with IT thematics.
