Hi! I graduated from the Kyiv National Linguistic University with a specialization in Chinese and English Translation (a Master's degree). My native languages are Russian and Ukrainian. Foreign languages are my passion. I also know German on the B1 level. I have experience in translating medical, banking, legal, popular science subject, and journalistic articles but want to develop and improve my skills! There is no limit to perfection.

I have been working as a translator since 2005, maintaining long-term relationships with 4 medium and major translation agencies in Moscow. I have done only written translation primarily in IT field, less in law and some on oil and gas topics. My translation career encompasses diverse areas, from movie industry (translating for Hollywood film stars (Jon Voight, Sammi Davis) to translating for roughnecks on drilling rigs in Siberia. This hands-on experience in various occupations, combined with technical background in survey & mapping, allows me to produce accurate, precise translations of even the most complicated texts. I have been working as a freelance translator since 2006, with more than 6 million words translated to date. I first started my translation career in mid 1980-ies with a few odd translation / interpretation jobs of a few months each. I then went on to work as a staff translator for the first Soviet-US JV White Nights in 1990 and continued to pursue this career with several other JVs and US companies until 2006, when I became a full-time freelance translator. Besides working as a translator during that period, I also held several other positions in procurement, logistics and administration at these companies, which subsequently proved to be a valuable source of knowledge for my work as an independent translator after 2006.

Within 23 years’ career in Caterpillar I had held many different positions in engineering, product support, sales, marketing and management. In the beginning of services as a technical rep of Engine Division, I was actively engaged in the translation of advertising, marketing and technical literature on diesel and gas generator sets, power trains for oil and gas industry, commercial engines. Later on was always involved in the practice of interpreting during negotiations with customers at various conferences, trainings and other events. Have a Master's Degree in English Philology and teaching foreign languages. Used to live in the USA for 3 years. Work as a teacher of English and French.

I have no special education in translation, but I have gained vast experience in manufacturing, engineering and communication companies. Thanks to considerable practical experience, I can translate engineering texts like a pro.
