My translation career encompasses diverse areas, from movie industry (translating for Hollywood film stars (Jon Voight, Sammi Davis) to translating for roughnecks on drilling rigs in Siberia. This hands-on experience in various occupations, combined with technical background in survey & mapping, allows me to produce accurate, precise translations of even the most complicated texts. I first started my translation career in mid 1980-ies with a few odd translation / interpretation jobs of a few months each. Extensive experience in: – technical literature translation (general technology, production equipment, transport, communications equipment and systems; IT technologies and systems: measuring and computing equipment; medical translations – therapy, diagnostics, pharmacology, medical equipment) etc. from Russian into English and from English into Russian; – developing technical documentation (user and service guides, instruction booklets, user interfaces etc., incl. in accordance with international methods and standards); – writing articles, essays, advertising texts, reviews, presentations, participating in conferences and shows. Skills and capabilities: Windows and Mac office software skills, some experience in software development environments. Experience with Adobe InDesign page setting, document and publication creation (guides, catalogs, posters, leaflets), digital image (drawings, diagrams etc.) editing and retouching in Adobe Photoshop.
