My translation career encompasses diverse areas, from movie industry (translating for Hollywood film stars (Jon Voight, Sammi Davis) to translating for roughnecks on drilling rigs in Siberia. I am a qualified translator with a BA in linguistics and extensive experience in the translation industry. My native languages are Russian and Belarusian, and I’m fluent in English and Italian, so I can translate in any combination of these. My primary focus at the moment is on marketing, legal and notarial translations together with film subtitling and app localisation, but I’m also comfortable with other areas such as IT and video games.

I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search.
