Welcome to my page. I am a freelance translator based in Kyiv, Ukraine. My mother tongues are both Ukrainian and Russian. I translate from English, French and Polish. I provide high-quality translation services (since 2003) and editing services (since 2008) in the following fields: IT (software localization, documentation, etc.), Telecom, Engineering, Consumer electronics and home appliances, Business, Law (contracts), Medicine (medical equipment and pharmacology). My list of final customers includes Microsoft, Apple, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Canon, BDD, Philips, SEB, Renault, Kuhn, Auchan, Manitowoc, Booking.com.

I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.

WHO I AM: Bilingual since birth I have always had an immence interest in two things: Music and Languages. Throughout my life i had many opportunities and demands to perform translation tasks on a personal and a professional level as well as privatly teaching languages. My translation experience spanns from simple e-meil and daily communications translations to academic translations. While bieng a professional composer i have gained great skill of holding myself to the deadline and demanding the highest standard of work. I am resoursful and an exceptionally quick learner, so no job would be too tough. MY LANGUAGES: Native: English, Russian. Aquired: Swedish (fluent), German (working proficiency), Finnish (working proficiency). WHAT I DO (APART FROM TRANSLATIONS): Proofreading and editing of any written work in English (including academic works). Adaptation to UK-English (native).
