Hello! I am a Brazilian freelance translator/localizer (English/Portuguese-BR), proofreader and editor. My first translation job as a freelancer was in 2013 and I started working as a full-time freelance translator in 2017. In the last three years, I have been providing translating, subtitling, copywriting and proofreading services for several clients, such as TransPerfect Translations and Trivago. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, a Specialization in Editorial Projects and a Master’s degree in Literary and Cultural Studies. I also hold a Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) certificate. I have a deep knowledge of Portuguese grammar. Although I have been living in Europe for the last 5 years, Brazilian Portuguese is my native language and the variant I work mainly with.

I am native Portuguese with excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills and I have almost as great skills in English. My brain is definitely bilingual. I have been a freelance Professional Translator since 2013, specializing in Business, Marketing and Social Sciences. However, I have also performed successful translations in many other different fields, such as website and app contents, legal contracts, technical manuals, automotive systems, coaching materials, among others. I am very detail and quality oriented. Before that, I was an Administrative Assistant for over 5 years. I translated some website articles as a volunteer (since 2010) and I worked for an import/export company where I was responsible for all external communications (English/Spanish). I also performed some translation work in one of the companies I worked in. I use SDL Trados 2011, but I always check my translations, sentence by sentence, for grammar, meaning and vocabulary use - no automatic translations! I am also very proficient in manual translations, which many clients demand in order to attain better quality.
