My name is Mattia, I live in Italy, and I am a freelance technical translator. I am an expert and professional translator/proofreader from English/German and French to Italian, my expertise covers different fields of translations, from easiest product translations to complex manuals for machines, I have translated almost any kind of text in my career. I am a freelance translator based in Milan. During my university years I have collaborated with many translation agencies, and now I am starting my freelance business. I have graduated with full marks in Linguistic and cultural mediation in 2019, with a thesis on the translation of a french user guide about e-agriculture. I have attended courses on literary translation, specialized translation, interpreting - chuchotage, conference interpreting and consecutive interpreting. I have done traineeships in 3 different LSP based in Milan, and I worked in each one during 3 months. I have improved my hard skills and I have gained some important soft skills - as teamwork, problem-solving and lateral thinking. I have translated more than 15'000 in a range of subjects: general, agriculture, cosmetics and many others.

I speak Italian, French, English, German and Spanish - Born in Italy and raised between Italy and France. Bilingual Native Italian/French- I have been living in London and Stuttgart and I have been working as interpreter and tour guide for 10 years. I am now working as a superyacht charter broker and in my free time I am still working as interpreter / translator freelance.

I was born in the USA from Italian parents, and lived there up to age 13, thus growing up in a bilingual family and school environment. I achieved my degree as an English and French translator in 2000, and have been working since then as a translator, both freelance and in-house, in the following language pairs: ENG > IT, IT>EN, FR>IT. I worked for 7 years for an engineering and consulting firm, translating all sorts of documents, administrative, technical, project-related, business and legal. I currently work as a freelance translator.

As an English to Italian ProZ.com Certified PRO Network gaming, technical, and marketing translator (EN 15038) and Italian native speaker, I have been translating on a volunteer basis since 2012 (working on big projects since 2016) and professionally since 2020. I have experience in handling localization processes as a whole for text-heavy video games, as a translator (transcreation, proofreading, photo editing), LQE specialist, LQA tester, and localization project manager (file preparation, regex tagging, developer relations). 2,500,000 words translated, with a daily output of 4,500 words.
