I am M Amir Syarifuddin, I am currently working as a professionally qualified freelance English><Indonesian interpreter and translator with 6 years experience. I have recently joined with UNHCR, Malaysia and funkycorp.com, a Japanese boutique agency by translating the company’s website and company profile. At the end of 2017, I have been hired by Asian Absolute, a UK translation company based in Singapore by translating annual report of Indonesian company and some other translation projects. Upon graduation from Bina Nusantara University in 2009, I directly worked for Business Advisory Indonesia until my resignation in 2015 as an Assistant Managing Editor. From 2016 to 2019, I worked at PT. Legal Centric Indonesia with the last position as the Head of Translation Division. In addition to my formal working experience as a translator/editor, I also provided translation services for some companies and organizations. Together with my friends, I founded ASJ Translation in 2017. I passed the Indonesian Translators’ Qualification Examination held by the Professional Certification Agency of University of Indonesia in 2021 for the English-Indonesian language pair. On 5 October 2022, I took an oath as a sworn translator administered by the Directorate General of Legal Administrative Affairs. I also took the Assessment of Sworn Translators for Professionals in 2022 for the Indonesian-English language pair in order to complete my qualifications.

I started as a freelance translator in 2017, started by translating Japanese novels, songs, works, etc. Mostly focusing on novels, songs, and articles in EN-JP/ID.
