Hi there! My name is Ricardo Marte and I work as a professional translator and photographer. I was born in Austria and lived there until I was 24 years old. When I was 24 I moved to Gent with my Belgian girlfriend. There I graduated with a Master of Science from the University of Ghent (teaching language English). Then I started working for Dutch company as an marketing analyst in the energy market. My main tasks consist of writing reports about the developments on the energy market in German, English and Dutch. I am communicative and take quality very seriously. I'm a 37 years old native German author and translator. Within the last years I translated websites, newsletters, contracts or other documents and also books. Before this I studied management of media (including a semester abroad in the UK) and began a schooling as an alternative practitioner for animals. All the years I worked in different side jobs, gaining knowledge in areas I otherwise might not have touched (florist, industrial production, programming, journalism, etc.). I grew up in Germany and have visited my huge American family in the US State Ohio every year for a month, give or take. I have been fluent in English since 1989. I have worked for a medical device producer for over a total of 3 years, translating regulations and processes required by the ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820. I have spent a month going over the new MDSAP guideline. I studied the subjects German and English to teach it at the Gymnasium, which is the equivalent to an academic high school.

I will go back to teaching in February, but since I miss working with languages in a more direct way, I want to keep translating different projects. I am also a major modern literature fan and would not mind translating (short) stories, either.
