As a trained European Merchant, with additional subject-specific training for lawyers in English, I have worked as a sales assistant, sales representative and recruiter for about 10 years, before I started freelancing full-time in 2009. Translating patents (technical English and German) became the main focus of my work as well as manuals and instructions, product descriptions and free style writing. As my clients are lawyers, manufacturing companies, marketing agencies and many more, I enjoy delivering anything from legal language to more creative writing. With a long and extensive background in the corporate world (US, CY & NL companies) in leading positions, I have managed to become a well-rounded specialist with strong expertise in Customer Services, Management, Account Management, Direct Selling, Compliance (within Direct Selling) obtained in international, multicultural environments of the sectors Tourism, e-Commerce, Telecom, FMCG, Financial Trading and Crowdfunding. I have translated text throughout my entire professional career, and am fully bilingual in the language pair EN-DE, DE-EN, and EN/DE - NL. I live in the Netherlands for over 19 years now, am a native German, and work as a freelance translator here and on other platforms for more than 5 years.

In June 2022, I graduated from Istanbul University, Department of German Translation and Interpreting. I have been professionally providing translation services to many translation companies and offices for 1 year. I specialize in technical, legal and medical translations.

I've been working as a tutor (English and German) for 3 years and as a translator (freelance) for a year and a half. I fluently speak English and German. Moreover I can work with the business communication, translating articles on the business topics and so on. I've taken part in different international student exchange programs, particularly in Germany (DAAD Summer courses). I passed there inofficial language tests(TestDaF), which showed my B2-C1 language level.

Language has always fascinated me-not merely the speaking of foreign languages but the act of translation in particular. Transforming the precise meaning of a text and making it alive in a different language requires more than an excellent command of the grammar and vocabulary of the target language. The translated text needs to sound natural and fluent, and maintaining the correct context is similarly essential. Translation of web-based e-commerce​ pages, for instance, is very different from translating an academic text or a literary piece. I specialize in translating documents from English or Dutch into German, my mother tongue. I translate only into my home language as translations out of one’s home language can go badly wrong-both for oneself and for the client-if one is not fully bilingual. I am reliable.

I am a professional translator. Before and during my academic career I have worked as a freelancer, performing on specialized texts such as user manual guides, scientific abstracts, patents, technical data sheets, popular science articles, and business contracts. I am able to translate other literary genres, also less formal like novels, newspaper and fashion articles, and literary works in general with a certain degree of proficiency at using CAT tools like SmartCat, OmegaT, Wordfast Anywhere, SDL Trados, MateCat. My linguistic combinations are: IT>EN/EN>IT, IT>DE/DE>IT. I am very flexible in terms of working hours and workload because I am prepared to work late and also on weekends in case of urgent projects.
