I was born in Switzerland and at the age of 3 we moved to Slovakia, so I'm proficient in German and Slovak. I have learned and studied the English language for 15 years now, so I'm fluent in it as well. I have worked for multinational companies, which required customer support in English and German on a day to day basis. Looking forward to starting translating. My passion is reading books and learning new stuff.

I have a Master's degree in translation and interpreting (German/English/Spanish) and I did two Bachelor's degrees in transcultural communication and Spanish language. Thanks to many stays abroad in the US, Spain, and Latin America I could perfect my English and Spanish skills. German native freelance translator with more than 20 years experience working for national and international agencies, individuals and companies. I am a dedicated, thorough and reliable translator with an eye for details always looking forward to extending my knowledge and becoming familiar with new topics. However, due to my previous professional experience at a court, I´m particularly interested in legal translations.

I am a student at Tübingen University interested in languages, history, and archaeology with a passion for Japanese pre-historic archaeology (particularly the Jomon period).

I have been certified as a translator in English by the Federal Republic of Germany in Karlsruhe and in my work I am dedicated to thoroughness, exactness and intelligibility. My interests cover such areas as history, politics, philosophy, science fiction, fantasy and horror literature. My favorite book is Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell and my most-read authors are Stephen King, H. P. Lovecraft and Clive Barker.

Starting as interpreter and translator during the balkan war, while studying German language in Zagreb, I moved 1995 to Austria, where I live ever since. I am Croatian and German native with profund knowledge of English language. In the meanwhile I was working in big international companies like European Telecom International, a company of Telefonica, and DHL. Since 2012 I am self-employed and work as translator and writer.

Mikael moved to Hong Kong from Germany at the age of 16. After graduating he underwent an education as an “Office Management Assistant”, a typical German program that guides one through all departments within a company. Since that time he spent most of his years in Hong Kong, working in and travelling to various countries within Asia, Europe and also the US. He has especially strong knowledge of the Asian market, having spent the past 33 years in Hong Kong with international exposure. During his career he was fortunate to have worked with a fascinating range of products, services, group of companies and individuals, creating, building and leading brands and different markets; From technical consumables to hi-tech machineries.
