I am a Lomonosov Moscow State University graduate in English, French, German and Spanish languages. During the course of my studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies I acquired a solid base in linguistics. Now I am studying at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University to get a second bachelor's degree in Biomedical appliances, which makes medicine and medical devices the area of special interest for me. My name is Martin Sonia, a professional translator. I have been working with the GENGO team since 2014.

I've always had a passion for languages! Born in France, I grew up speaking French and learning English and German in school from an early age. I also touched on Italian, Spanish and Greek. But ultimately, my career led me to focus on English. I left France at the age of 30, stayed for 2 years in the USA, and have now been living in Canada since 2015. My background is scientific: I have several degrees in the biomedical and life sciences fields, including a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in healthcare and research. During that time, I also offered translation services in my field as a secondary part-time activity. As of 2020, I am now a full-time translator English-to-French and French-to-English. My main interests remain in the medical/health sciences field, but I am also interested in a variety of other subjects that are not necessarily science related. However, keep in mind that it depends on the type, timing and length of the project. I agree to work for a lower rate when I work for NGOs for example. I always consider the rate to be an open dialogue between me and my partners.
