English to French Translator

I'm a French native speaker from Brussels, Belgium (born in 1981). I live in the US since 1994 and I'm working as a Translator/Proofreader -French (France and Belgium), English (UK/US), Spanish (Spain/Latin America/US), some Italian to English (2007-present) and French, and Consecutive Interpreter - French, English, Spanish (2009-present) - currently in NY. For certain advanced/expert translation, I'm more comfortable translating into English. I hold an Associates of Arts degree from Westchester Community College and a Masters of Arts and Bachelors of Arts in Spanish, with a Minor concentration/specialisation in Italian from Iona College, Cum Laude ( similar to with distinction or with honours mention). I'm a Candidate in the Spanish to English Translation Programme at NYU CPS (NY University School of Continuing and Professional Studies) to earn my Translation Certificates and pursuing continuing adult education/professional translation studies at Translation and Interpreter Training at International School of Linguists and other companies. I also hope to become an accomplished author/writer and poet.

I'm a professional French native translator/proofreader for more than 5 years and I do have a great multitasking experience from different projects that I handled in the past years from a freelancer to a local professional. I do manage fluently English and Spanish and I can handle projects from any of these language combinations.

I am building experience step by step since 2018, finding new clients and new projects. I have worked on various projects since I graduated (from small to big documents) and with two main language pairs (Chinese to French, English to French), but sometimes accepted a project in Chinese to English. I have experience with a lot of domains (mainly fiction, economics, politics, history, marketing and business). I enjoy discovering new challenges.

I am an independent translator of Turkish origin born in France. So, my mother tongues are French and Turkish, and my English level is very good. My translation languages are Eng and Tr to Fr I do not use an assisted translation program. I work with the manual method, I prefer, but it does not bother me to translate about 2000 words a day, sometimes more, sometimes less, it goes away from the content of the text. I work at home so am always available and therefore very responsive. I already work with agencies, and everything is going well, so why not with you? I have been working in companies in Hamburg for the past two years as a student assistant. In the last two jobs I had (one at a statistics company and another at an international cooperation NGO) I have been tasked regularly to translate documents from French to English and from English to French. Additionally, I grew up in the bilingual city of Montréal where these two languages are used interchangeably. I did all my elementary and secondary education in French and all my university (first and second cycles) in English.
