I am a French native speaker. I am an experienced, highly-proficient, intuitive Translator. I have a Bachelor Degree in Information and Communication studies and a Masters in Film Analysis and Scriptwriting. Thanks to my studies, I can manage technical translations on those fields: IT and telecom, marketing and business, sociology, linguistics, fiction, script, arts and culture. Because of my interests in fashion, travel and food, I am also good at translating those areas. I have translated several documents including novels, academic papers, biographies, websites, subtitles files. My academic background has required a perfect mastery of French, which I have also been able to exploit in the pursuit of my personal editorial projects. I am able to guarantee the highest quality since I proofread all my translations, cross-referencing terminology sources and using an extensive library of dictionaries and technical sources.

I am a senior French translator (EN, ES and PT into FR) with 12 years of experience in economics, business, and legal translation (and 7 years of prior experience in IT services sales teams). I have a comprehensive knowledge of CAT and DTP tools and strong skills in text editing, terminology management and project coordination. I first graduated from a French Business School (EDHEC 1995) and worked as an IT services saleswoman for 7 years (sectors: aeronautics and defence; health industry). Then I quit my position to study translation for 3 years, graduated from the ESIT in 2007, and joined the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance as a translator the same year (after a competitive examination). In 2014, I joined the OECD French translation division (after another competitive examination) to work mainly on the BEPS Project (OECD/G20 project to fight tax evasion). In 2020, I started working as a freelancer, which allowed me to move from Paris to Normandy (life quality: +3000%).

However, keep in mind that it depends on the type, timing and length of the project. I agree to work for a lower rate when I work for NGOs for example. I always consider the rate to be an open dialogue between me and my partners. I've always had a passion for languages! Born in France, I grew up speaking French and learning English and German in school from an early age. I also touched on Italian, Spanish and Greek. But ultimately, my career led me to focus on English. I left France at the age of 30, stayed for 2 years in the USA, and have now been living in Canada since 2015. My background is scientific: I have several degrees in the biomedical and life sciences fields, including a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in healthcare and research. During that time, I also offered translation services in my field as a secondary part-time activity. As of 2020, I am now a full-time translator English-to-French and French-to-English. From 1990 to 2003, I worked mainly as programmer, using various languages such as Fortran, Pascal, C, Visual Basic, SQL, Javascript and Perl and as system administrator, setting computers and networks and familiar with UNIX, and most of Windows OS and Mac OS versions. - From 2001 to 2010, I worked as French translator in an in-house translation department, translating over 7 millions words.
