Since 2015 I have been self-employed and I mainly do translations for companies in the UK/USA and the Netherlands. I love my work and always try to make the best of it. I work as a freelance translator since 2005 (full-time from 2005 to 2008 and since 2017) and have worked as an internal translator for a translation agency in the meantime (from 2008 to 2017). Before that, I worked in customer service jobs for several companies in different industries (marketing, leasing, etc.)

My goal was to turn my work as a translator into my primary source of income and creating this small business was my first step towards achieving that. Through the years I have made translations of various texts for agencies worldwide as well as directly for end clients. I have also worked as a translator/ international correspondent for Tyco Valves & Controls (pumps and valves industry), from 2005 through 2009, and for Hero Breda (food industry), from 1992 through 1996. In these jobs I learnt a lot about the translation of technical and practical subjects and natural sciences. I now combine my love for and knowledge of these subjects with my love for languages and translation. I developed a taste for the literary genre as well: since 2012 I have worked closely with a publishing company, called ClusterEffect, and have translated several novels, both fiction and non-fiction.
