As a translator from foreign languages to Arabic, I convert written material from one or more 'source languages' into the 'target language', ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly as possible. I also work in the proofreading field, which is a mix of translation, localisation and copywriting, where the text is culturally and linguistically adapted to suit the reader.

I have more than 20 years of translation, with particular concern about linguistic aspects of the Arabic language and culture. I have been a translator for Syria's government department since 1998. Also, I worked for UN Organizations in Syria then, translating agreements, work plans, and project documents. After that, I left Syria for Saudi Arabia and consequently left my job. I was offered the position of Arabic and Cultural Instructor for nonnative speakers, which, in turn, inflamed my passion for my mother tongue and started to look at it from an analytical point of view. However, after the spread of coronavirus, my old love for translation came up. So, I started looking for translation opportunities.
I want to start again with a rewarding project!
